The Lodges
Q: How many rooms and beds are in each lodge?
A: Calamus Outfitters has two lodges, the Upper Lodge and the Lower lodge. The Upper Lodge has five bedrooms, with three bedrooms on the main level and two bedrooms on the lower level. Two bedrooms on the main level have a queen and a single bed, with the other room having two queen beds. Each room has its own bathroom, with one being handicapped accessible. The lower level has one bedroom with a queen bed and its own bathroom and the other room has a full and single with the bathroom outside of the room. Also on the lower level is a sleeping room with three single beds and one queen bed. The kitchen, great room and an extra bathroom are on the main level. There is a covered deck in the front and a open deck in the back.
The Lower Lodge has five bedrooms. Four bedrooms on the main floor and one upstairs. Four of the bedrooms have two queen beds and one has two full beds. Each have a private bathroom. The great room and kitchen are in the center of the structure, with an extra bathroom connected to this space. The lodge also has a covered front porch.
Q: How many bathrooms in each lodge?
A: Each lodge has six bathrooms.
Q: Do we need to bring towels and linens?
A: Only the bottom, fitted sheet is provided. Please bring your own bedding/pillow. Bathroom/kitchen towels are provided. Note: Please bring personal towels to take to the lake or river.
Q: Is there a grill available?
A: Each lodge has a charcoal grill.
Q: What's in the kitchen?
A: Upper Lodge: Gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, silver, cooking pots and pans, etc.
Lower Lodge: Electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, some dishes, silver, limited cooking pots and pans.
Q: Does each room have a TV?
A: Each lodge has a TV in the great room. No TV's in the bedrooms.
Q: Can we bring our dog?
A: Pets are not allowed - no exceptions. Guests will be asked to leave immediately if they bring a dog or other pet. Lodging will be paid in full and no refunds will be issued. This is to help ensure the health and safety of other guests, help promote a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, keep our grounds and facilities clean as well as keep your own pet safe (and not lost) as we are a working ranch.
Q: Can we have music around the campfire?
A: Playing a guitar and singing (no car radios, boom boxes, etc.) is allowed between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Calamus Outfitters offers a peaceful setting and is big reason why our guests stay with us, so please be mindful that your activities may be impacting the experience of others.
Q: Are the rooms non-smoking?
A: All facilities (lodges, cabins and barn) are non-smoking. Please smoke outside and dispose of cigarette butts in proper receptacles.
Q: Can we bring our ATV's ?
A: We do not allow ATV's at Calamus Outfitters. This rule applies to all guests, including hunters.
Q: Can we have a bon fire?
A: Each lodge has its own fire ring. You may bring your own wood (excluding ash) or purchase wood at our General Store/Office. If the fire danger is high in the area, fires may not be allowed. Please check at the office before lighting your fire when the conditions are dry.
Q: Is Calamus Outfitters on the lake?
A: We are approximately ½ mile away from the Calamus Reservoir.
The Cabins
Q: How many rooms and beds in each cabin?
A: Each cabin has one room plus a bathroom. Each cabin has queen bunk beds and single bunk beds, for a total of four beds.
Q: What's in the cabin?
A: Each cabin has a kitchenette area, with an under-counter refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. There are no cooking stoves in the cabins. Limited dishes, silver, no cooking pots and pans. A small table and seating for six is also in each cabin.
Q: Are they air conditioned?
A: Each cabin has A/C, heat and a wall mounted fan.
Q: Do the cabins have TV?
A: No.
Q: Are the cabins close together?
A: The cabins are all in one area, so if you are renting two or more cabins you will be close together.
Q: Are the cabins on the lake or river?
A: No. The cabins are approximately ½ mile away from the Calamus Reservoir.
Q: Do the cabins have bedding?
A. No. You are responsible for bringing your own pillows and blankets, however we do provide the bottom fitted sheet.
Q: Do we need to bring towels?
A: Towels are provided for the cabins. Note: Please bring personal towels for the lake and river.
